Having created stained glass versions of icons of Scotland and Ireland, its now Englands turn – I’ve just finished creating the tudor rose emblem.  Its sometimes called the union rose, because it contains the white rose of York with the red rose of Lancaster.  It was created in the period of Henry VII (also known as Henry Tudor), who was crowned King of England on the 30th of October 1485.  Here is the rose emblem on a mousemat, but its available on a range of products in my Zazzle shop.

Usually I sell more of my music related designs than any other ones, however in the last month my stained glass designs have sold best.   I’ve already featured my stained glass thistle design on a mousemat, but its also available on other products.  Here it is on a bag (see below), also available on mugs, and apron – perfect for celebrating Burns night!

Creating virtual stained glass designs like the thistle (posted 22nd November) is a lot of fun. I think I’m having far too much fun using the textured glass background – I decided to do a version of Cinderella’s glass slipper – see below for how it came out!

I’ve always enjoyed the challenge of completing a maze, whether its a full size 3D maze, or a simple 2D maze on paper. Over time, I’ve learned how to design mazes, and put together enough different designs to create a maze calendar for 2010 (Amazing 2010).

Usually mazes are made from straight lines and angular corners, so I set about creating a maze that was filled with curves, with few angular corners and almost no straight lines. Its called the Blue Swirls Maze, and you can see it below. These designs are available in my zazzle store: Inkles.

The thistle is the national emblem for scotland, so I’ve created a virtual stained glass design featuring a thistle.  I’m particularly pleased with how it turned out, as it took some time to get the background glass to look realistic.  The design is shown here on a mouse mat, but its available on a range of products in my zazzle shop.
